Deadline: October 31, 2014
LDI Africa is seeking qualified individuals to serve as members of its Selection Board for its Emerging Institutions Fellowship Program Spring 2015 class. Members of the Selection Board help LDI Africa select the best candidates from a competitive pool of applicants.
About LDI and EIFP
Landmark Development Initiative (LDI) Africa builds the capacity of African corporations, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations to compete in the global marketplace through the service of skilled volunteers. By creating pro bono consulting opportunities for skilled professionals in Africa and the US, LDI Africa fellowship programs strengthen an entrepreneurial eco-system that positions African emerging businesses on the path of sustainable growth and scale.
The Emerging Institutions Fellowship Program (EIFP) (our Africa Fellowship) provides hands-on service opportunities for young business and development professionals from around the world at Africa’s leading for-profit and nonprofit firms. It is designed to match financial capital invested in emerging African businesses with the human capital needed to take these institutions to scale
Eligibility
Candidates will be selected based on their professional experience, education and commitment to the development of Africa’s enterprises. The selection process is designed to ensure that each candidate meets the qualifications of the African institutions for which their service is needed. The Selection Board is therefore essential to the selection process, as they would evaluate and score applicants based on guidelines, and provide recommendations to LDI Africa.
The board will constitute a broad selection of executive level professionals who have interests in Africa through heritage, work or investment. We encourage nationals and non-nationals of African countries to apply.
Expertise in the following areas is strongly suggested:
- Impact Investing
- Social Enterprise
- International Development
- Project Management
- Human Resource Management
- Doing business, living or working in Africa
Each Selection Board Member will interview 2 – 6 finalists for 30 minutes each and will provide recommendations to LDI Africa in writing. Interviews will be held from November 26 to December 7, 2014.
Compensation
Selection Board Members do not receive compensation and are encouraged with their shared vision in Africa’s development.
